Shared by Sharon Robertson - ENJOY!

You may have seen this - don't think it is new to the internet, but I loved it.  If you think others might enjoy it, you are free to post on our Paseo blog.  Hope all is well with you.  Sharon Robertson
If you were alive in 1957, and old enough to enjoy Rock and Roll, you will probably remember the group, "The Diamonds" who had just launched their super hit "Little Darlin' ".  This should bring back a few memories.   Ahhh yes, the good old days.  I remember it well.  Nice to see some things getting better with age!
In 1957, The Diamonds had a hit with "Little Darlin".  47 years later, they were requested to perform at Atlantic City ...  This link leads to both performances.

Watch the first one then scroll down for the new one 47 years later.

Be sure to scroll down to second performance on the web page and watch BOTH!

Tom Conkright shared pictures of his trip to Kenya

Tom and Jan Conkright just returned from a mission trip to Kenya and have shared their photos with us.  For those of us less mobile, it is a pleasure to see photos of far away places and adventures by our friends.  Thanks Tom for sharing.

As most of you know, we participated in a Mission trip to Kenya during July.  We visited, and worked, with 4 different arrangements to help children without parents (orphans).  We worshipped in two rural churches on the outskirts of Nyeri, which is at the base of Mt. Kenya.  We spent two nights in local homes.  Of the 16 day trip, we spent the last two nights in the Masai Mara in a game preserve.  It was a nice way to catch our breath before the long trip home.  Below are some of the pictures we took.  Enjoy and be blessed.

Kikuyu is a large area near Nairobi with churches, hospitals and schools mostly operated by the Presbyterians.

We spent most of our time here at a home called Tumaini.

Chuka is a town about a 3 hour drive from Nyeri.  The mission is called Kenya Connection and operates both a small home and an outreach to about 130 children.

We visited two places that support battered/neglected women.  One was a spinning and weaving group north of Nyeri, and the other was beads and pottery in Nairobi.

Mostly taken from the van, these pictures show areas along the road.  Lots of traffic.  A couple of pictures show very nice shopping malls.

OK.  So the safari was a lot of fun.  Nice accommodations (tents!), and lots, and lots of animals.

Age creeps in

Okay, so I am a bit more cautious than when I was a kid!
And I don't take as many reckless chances as I did when I was a teenager. And I'm a bit slower than I was when I was a young man. But, I still feel and think in my mind that I have never really grown up. I still have moments when I want to whoop and holler, maybe just not so loud.

The years flew by, many without my even noticing them. All the dear friends from my youth have gone their own ways for many years, but I still remember each and every one of them as they were long ago. The world has kept on turning and the old problems have disappeared or changed into new problems. Life goes on and friends and relations pass away or move away and my world becomes just a bit sadder and just a bit lonelier. I still enjoy the sunsets and the mountains and the fresh spring air. I still enjoy the smells and the sounds.

Life can be so sweet at moments, and yet there are times like this when I feel age beginning to creep in on me and I cringe because I really don't want to grow up yet.
